Analyse a budget
This template allows businesses to compile cost estimates of revenue and expenses in an analytical manner. The template --
1. Provide monthly cash flow estimates, considering
2. Monthly committed revenue and expenditure, and
3. Once-off income and expenses.
4. Classification of revenues (income) according to --
4.1 Remuneration (basic salary or other remuneration-related sporadic [monthly] income)
4.2 Dividends or other income from investments.
4.3 Profits from companies or other business ventures.
4.4 Other income not classified in one of the Categories above.
5. Classification of expenditure according to --
5.1 Mandatory expenses which must be paid because of contractual reasons, such as the electricity bill or municipal costs, your car - or house instalment, etc.
5.2 Discretionary expenses are payments over which you have control; you can decide to pay it or not.
5.3 Wages are payments to persons in service of the business.
5.4 Investments are payments for items that will provide return-on-investments, such as insurance policies, life cover, etc. Investment cost can also be mandatory (because contractually you are required to pay the instalments). However, if there are substantial benefits and future value to flow from the investment, rather classify it as "investment".
5.5 Current payments are all other payments that do not create future return-on-investment and are not covered on one of the other categories.
